As a partner of the Google Verified Peering Provider (VPP) program, EdgeIX is pleased to offer members of our peering fabric access to our highly-available, dedicated connectivity into the Google Edge Network.

The VPP program is an alternative to Direct Peering with Google and offers connectivity to all publicly available Google services. For networks that do not qualify for Direct Peering with Google, any Google service which can be accessed over the internet can instead be reached over a VPP-enabled EdgeIX fabric.

EdgeIX manages the peering relationship with Google along with its associated connectivity, and provides access to our peers on an opt-in/out basis. This service is currently available in selected EdgeIX fabric locations.

How the VPP Program Works

Google customers need simple and highly available connectivity solutions to reach Google resources such as Workspace and other internet-facing applications. Many networks today are not interested in or prepared to manage complex Direct Peering connections, or do not meet the requirements to do so.

By connecting to Google through an EdgeIX VPP-enabled fabric, you leverage the same set of infrastructure that delivers highly-reliable services including Search, Workspace, YouTube, and more. By leaving the Direct Peering to EdgeIX, your network gets access to all Google services without the complexities of peering management.

EdgeIX maintains its Direct Peering with Google over dedicated, redundant, private connectivity. When networks connect through our VPP-enabled fabric to reach Google, they are choosing a provider that has verified diverse connectivity to Google, enabling highly-available access to Google services.

Note: Google Dedicated Interconnect or Partner Interconnect are alternative Google products that do not work with VPP.

Fabric Locations

Google VPP connectivity is currently available in selected EdgeIX fabric locations. Our Silver verification indicates verified redundancy to Google’s Edge Network across these enabled locations.

Getting Started

For Existing EdgeIX Peers

If you’re already connected to EdgeIX fabric:

  1. Contact our technical team to discuss Google VPP requirements
  2. Opt-in to VPP service - we’ll work with you to enable Google-optimised routing for your network
  3. Technical configuration - EdgeIX handles all Google-specific setup
  4. Begin using optimised Google connectivity through our fabric

For New Networks

To access EdgeIX VPP-enabled fabric:

  1. Join EdgeIX as a peering partner
  2. Technical onboarding to our fabric infrastructure
  3. Opt-in to Google VPP during setup or at any time
  4. Immediate access to Google-optimised connectivity
